Romancing the past
The Amoy Boutique Hotel brief was to devise a brand mark that resonated with the area’s heritage, but with a visual direction that felt contemporary. Amoy shuns the norms and restrictions of the usual city hotels, and caters to the sophisticated traveler who values personalized service in an intimate environment. With this in mind, we designed an identity that had the appeal of a traditional wax stamp, while also embodying a strong Asian direction. Above all the identity needed to be eye-catching and memorable.
The four-color motif was designed in Vermilion red, but is equally versatile in white and, when applied to advertising templates and in-room toiletries, can be used with a tagline, key descriptor and/or a pattern to embellish the overall appeal.
